Silencer FAQs

Are silencers legal?

Yes, silencers are 100% legal to own in many states including Georgia.

Do I need a Class 3 license in order to purchase a silencer?

No, a class 3 license allows dealers to purchase and sell silencers to customers and government agencies. All you have to do is complete some paperwork, pay the ATF $200 per item, and wait for approval by the ATF. We will assist you in the process and make it as simple as possible.

How long does the process take?

Unfortunately, we can’t be certain on the exact time frame. These times are strictly based upon the ATF and their current workload. Alpha 1 Concepts can not control the wait times. We do offer eFiling (when available) for customers who have a current trust. Some of these transfers have been approved in as little as 90 days. Currently, the eFile Form 4 is not online, so all transfers will be completed via paper transmission.

What is eFiling?

The ATF established an online program that allowed dealers to submit transfers via the internet. This program greatly decreased the amount of time waiting for approvals. Unfortunately, Form 4s are not available on the eFile system now. As soon as the Form 4 is back online, Alpha 1 Concepts will start filing through the system. This service will only be available for trust transfers.

What if I don’t have a trust?

No problem, we can submit the paperwork traditionally. Unfortunately, this route does require a few more steps such as fingerprinting, passport photos, and chief law enforcement endorsement. Traditional filing also takes longer to be approved when compared to eFiling.

How do I get a trust?

We recommend having an attorney create the trust. You can also consult with internet trust companies such as 199trust.com.

Do you offer demos?

Sure, just contact us to arrange demos. Depending on specifics of the demo, a small fee may be required.
